Rust & Citrus Chrysler scarf

A limited edition Australian Merino lambswool scarf designed by Sarah Tyssen.

Sarah hand weaves a sample piece of each design and colour on a 16 shaft Louet Megado dobby loom in her Surrey workshop. She then calculates the yarn quantities required to fulfil the limited edition run of each colour combination.

The yarn Sarah uses is from sheep raised on high welfare farms in Australia. The climate in the southern hemisphere produces the best, high quality soft fleeces. Wool from the Merino sheep is super fine and has a long 'staple', making it resistant to 'pilling' and is super soft.

The yarns are fleece dyed, which gives a greater depth of colour and light reflection in the fabric. It is then sent to the Yorkshire mill who she works very closely with to achieve the same finish as her hand woven samples.
